My Sweet Valentine

With less a week left before Valentine's Day have you picked up something for that someone special?? here are a few sweet handmade items we came across on etsy that would be perfect for the 14th of February.... or any day of the year really!

Autism Awareness Charm Bracelet - It's all about the LOVE from Studio Regency. Owner of Studio Regency and mom of tow says "by shopping with me you are supporting an artist and helping to allow her to be a stay-at-home mother to her two beautiful autistic children. Thank you!"

Hand Painted Ceramic Heart by 4 year old Autistic artist Siobhan Forrester available through Siobhan's Dream.
Siobhan's Dreams shop announcement reads "Why are her paintings so special? Because paint is the ONLY wet/squishy substance Siobhan will touch. She hates the sensation so much that she'll only eat dry crunchy foods. The idea of eating or touching something like yogurt, peanut butter or apple sauce is totally repulsive to her... Yet amazingly, she is very happy swirling & blending colors on canvas! With her artwork, we are hoping to spread a more positive message that while Autism does have it's challenges.... it has many gifts, too.
Siobhan has been in many different newspapers for her work, her art has been displayed in the Autism Project of Rhode Island's Art Gallery. She has also appeared on Dr. Phil. Her artwork is displayed on many websites... including the Autism Society of America, Artism Today, and KindTree.org"
.

Floating Hearts Note Card and Heart Note Card from Art by Betty Refour. These note cards are created from reproductions of a drawing that Betty's sister, Rose, has done. Betty tells us that "Rose has autism so a portion of the proceeds will be donated to support autism initiatives".
